HCRS Goals


  • To support the development of research into cardiovascular diseases in Greece.
  • To coordinate existing research initiatives in university and other national centres and to create research networks.
  • To support young, talented individuals and encourage them to be involved in cardiovascular research.
  • To enhance creative collaboration between national and international research centres.
  • To establish a Directorate for the Organisation of Multicentre Studies.
  • To improve funding for cardiovascular research by taking advantage of national and international programmes.
  • To develop activities relating to the whole spectrum of bioethics and professional codes in cardiovascular research.
  • To collaborate with other organisations that are active in medical, pharmacological, biotechnological and genetic research.
  • To cooperate with the biomedical technology industry.
  • To register patents related to biomedical research.
